Challenge:
Blackstone sought to unlock the full impact of its educational investments in fostering entrepreneurial talent beyond just start-ups. They asked: Why weren’t Blackstone’s entrepreneurial students getting hired? What was missing? How could they ensure lasting success?
Solution:
Despite significant investments, Blackstone wasn’t seeing the expected results—students struggled to find jobs, and HR teams overlooked the value of entrepreneurial skills. Through a cross-sector HTC Design Lab, stakeholders from venture capital to HR uncovered a root issue: a lack of shared language between educators, students, and employers. Collaborating with experts, HTC and the Blackstone team developed a strategic action plan that realigned expectations and tactics. The outcome? Blackstone and its teams moved forward with renewed clarity and confidence, recognizing their educational investments as a powerful force for social good—and the critical importance of establishing a shared language.
